Celebrating the Journey of Digital Artist Anna Mollekin
From Graphic Design to Digital Artist, what a thrilling ride it has been!
After completing my Bachelor's degree, I persevered through pregnancy challenges and graduated with flying colours. Joining Tainui Press, I uncovered my passion for the Ben Day Dot and further honed my skills through a PrintNZ Apprenticeship, earning the prestigious Graphic Communication Apprentice of the Year award. With 20 years of experience, including roles at the Bay of Plenty Regional Council, NZPRG, and my own design studio, I now take immense pride in owning doodlewear. Together with fellow artists, we showcase stunning art prints as captivating tops and homeware.
RNZ interview with Ellie Jay
As a digital artist, I had the incredible honour of being interviewed by RadioNZ producer Ellie Jay for "First Up." During our conversation, we delved into the transformative impact of the New Zealand Made Facebook page, now known as 'Chooice,' which opened countless doors for me. Lockdown 2020 served as a turning point, propelling my art from a side gig to a thriving business. This RadioNZ interview represents yet another remarkable opportunity that emerged from my engagement on 'Chooice!'
Artist Collaboration: Anna Mollekin and Ninette Kruger
As a digital artist, I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Ninette Kruger, a skilled Metal Embossing Artist from Tauranga. Together, we brought my artwork "Homegrown Lace" to life in a stunning hand-embossed, three-dimensional metal artwork. Ninette's incredible talent and the intricacy of her metal art left me in awe. Join us on our YouTube conversation below to witness the beauty of this artwork and discover the inspiration behind it.
